Folks, we’re making some changes to the old Treehouse, getting back to our roots as my friend Treeboy likes to say.
Eric (the aforementioned Treeboy) and I (Raspberry Jones) will be holding up the Treehouse from here on out, while continuing to invite some special friends to lend us a helping hand.
Frank’s was cool, but we want Treehouse to be FREE for the people, and also to have reliable sound and maybe a different vibe too. So starting Wednesday, August 12th, we’re moving to a cool new spot called Littlefield. It’s a venue and bar with a nice sound system, a friendly, slightly clubby vibe, modern design, and a nice outdoor patio that’s sort of part of the bar. Oh, and they make these lovely watermelon agua frescas (no alcohol) for all those drinking dry these days.
Littlefield is on Degraw between 3rd + 4th Ave. so it’s central too – 2 blocks away from the Union St. R stop, just over the Gowanus from the F/G stops, just down 4th Ave from all the Atlantic/Flatbush trains.
We’re going for a mellow bar hang early on (9-11pm or so), then a bit deeper as the evening progresses. So, come early and stay late. That’s when Treehouse 004’s special guest Ulysses is gonna get on. Ulysses (whom we’ve known for a long time as Elliot Taub) is an excellent DJ and producer who calls Brooklyn home; he’s been making pretty dope music as long as we can remember, for his own Scatalogics label, and more recently for Bearfunk, for Prins Thomas’ Internasjonal and also for Roy Dank’s Wurst Records.
