Ulysses selling records at the Brooklyn Flea on Sunday

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

I’ll be joining a large group of friends, compatriots and total strangers at the Brooklyn Flea Market this sunday, selling off records form my collection. Come by and help me unload many hundreds of wonderful records that you desperately have been missing. Let me help you fill the hole in your life with my old records.

Also there will be the folks from DFA Records, Def Jux Records, DJ Rekha, DJ DB and Dara from Breakbeat Science, Rich from Etherea Records (R.I.P.) and many others!

If not, stop by and check out the Flea itself: there will be dozens of other amazing retailers there that day, offering clothes, furniture, bric-a-brac, tschotckes and whatnot. And did I mention the food? They have some amazing food so don’t miss out.

OK, now you can actually reach us if you want

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

It recently occurred to us that we’ve had this site up for a while without any contact info. So if you were lucky enough to stumble across our brilliant and insightful website you would have no way of reaching us, other than commenting at the end of a post. Of course, not many people have done that other than people trying to sell me Viagra and Car Insurance… So, without any further ado, I’ve replaced the contact us section of the site. Isn’t that wonderful?

In the meantime, let me update you on some happenings. Sodium Records 10 and 11 are about to be released this Nov 5th. The first 100 copies are to be bundled with a free CD of both releases, as well, so keep your eyes open for it! Here’s a short sample of the records:

Sodium 10
Jordan Dare – Flatline MFs

This is a sample tune from the first release of the recently re-launched Sodium Recordings. Jordan Dare is an amazing producer from Montreal, and also a resident at Tiga’s “I Love Neon” Party. This EP is a stomper, I’m sure you’ll be playing each song so much they’ll have to pry your iPod from your cold, dead hands.

Sodium 11

Ulysses – Resistance (Tony Rohr Remix)

This is the follow-up EP: three dazzling tracks of minimal funk. The original, by moi, is a Kraftwerking funk party. This is a low-quality MP3 link to Tony Rohr’s remix. I know you’re gonna like it. The third mix is by Nick Chacona and Stefny, and it’s a corker. All three will be available online on Nov 19th, after the vinyl/CD release.

Be sure to check your favorite local record shop and online retailer! You can always buy them here: www.newsdistribution.be

New Scatalogics Release out now, more soon…

Sunday, March 11th, 2007

The latest Scatalogics release is out in stores now, be sure to harass your local retailer for multiple copies. It’s the “Do The Electric Toothbrush EP” by none other than Ulysses and DJ:Unknown of Eastvillageradio.com fame. There are remixes by our good friend Holmar Filipsson, as well as Montreal’s Electro House superstar Jordan Dare. Jordan has released previously on Turbo Records and is a regular DJ at the famous Neon parties.

You can buy this wonderful earth-shattering release directly from our friendly distributors at Rhythmic Distribution.

It should also be available soon on iTunes, Beatport, and all your other favorite MP3 retailers. Keep an eye out.

We’re preparing the next release as we speak. It’s a new track from Ulysses that will have some great artists remixing it. Tony Rohr is currently giving it a go, as is Bear Funk/Moodmusic/20:20 Vision’s Nick Chacona. Keep your eyes out for it!
